The Best Oven Baked Bacon

Bacon makes everything better, am I right?! I eat bacon with my eggs, with veggies, in casseroles, on salads, and just straight up!

I've done a lot of research on this (by research I mean eating A LOT of bacon over the years) and this is by far the easiest way to cook bacon! I learned of it awhile back, but only recently embraced it and let me tell you: I am never turning back! No more grease all over the stove, no more burns on my wrist, and best of all: you can cook large amounts in a fraction of the time! Hope you enjoy!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 12 oz. package of bacon (my favorite is Applegate Farms brand; it's uncured and sugar-free)

  • Foil or parchment paper (not wax paper!)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Line a large baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.

  3. Lay the bacon in a single layer on the baking sheet. Do not overlap.

  4. Bake for about 15 minutes, depending on your desired crispiness. (I usually start checking it around the 12 minute mark.)

  5. Drain the bacon on a paper towel-lined plate.

  6. Save the bacon fat in a glass jar to store in the fridge. Use later to cook veggies, eggs, etc.

NUTRITION:

For 2 slices of Applegate Naturals Bacon:
60 calories; 5g Fat, 0g Carbs, 4g Protein.
